If you are just a little bit interested in extreme sports and you have already admired the whirling rivers, then you do not need explanation when it comes to the expression WHITE WATER. It includes all water sports that are practiced on wild mountain rivers.
If you are eager to grow your adrenalin level you should try out one of these sports- the rafting, which is very safe in boats of 4-12 persons. The trekking for two people or the white water kayaking are more likely stunts than navigation. The hydrospeed belongs to this category, too. We can easily navigate through wild waters. Canyonig is another extreme sport, too. Canyonig is another extreme sport, too.
In these sports the suitable outfit is vital. Due to them dangerous moments turn into fun. So their usage is compulsory. Why is that? The river, full of rocks, flows very fast and even if you are a good swimmer, when you fall into the water you’ll get into trouble. So the outfit is primary, it is meant to protect you from bruises, scratches and cold water. The most important part of it is a special life jacket, made of a thick material and having an upthrust, which protects your back but does not disturb you in rowing. The helmet is to protect your scruff and forehead. The neoprene trousers and socks are keeping your body warm even in 4-15C cold water. The scull is part of the equipment, too. Even when falling into the water you can keep yourself away from the rocks and of course you row off the river with it. The complete equipment contains a throwing bag with a 10-15 meter long rope used to get someone on board; a hermetically closed box for cell phones, cameras, documents and a waterproof bag for new clothes.
Even when using the best equipment we must not forget that it protects us only to some extent and to prevent serious accidents we have to respect the water.
The difficulty level of the rivers is between WW I and WW VI, WW I- easy level, WW VI- practicable level. The difficulty levels of the tours that we organize are between WW II (not too difficult) and WW III (moderately difficult). For a harder level experience and good condition is required.
There are only a few practicable places for these sports and the level of the water is unstable, too, that is why there are not so many people practicing them.
Here are some suitable rivers to practice this sport. The first is the Sebes - Körös, the water of which is coming from two dams; the Jiu which is famous for its high floods; the Nera and the Cserna are flowing through beautiful straits and at last we offer for everyone the Beszterce and the Maros, which are easy to ride.
All sport encyclopaedias are caracterising these sports as being extreme, not that they are dangerous, but in the meaning that they involve the... ADVENTURE.
